What's Going On in Our City?
Well, we got "Too many of our mothers crying"
"Too many of our children dying"
Too many stumbling blocks are blocking their vision
Too much jealousy, envy, and hatred
Too many hurting people, all over the land
And around the world too!
Too many people are out of jobs
Too many fatherless children
Where is the love?
Has anyone seen love?
Do you know, where did love go?
Is love in your home?
Where did you leave God's love?
Maybe at the mall
Or at the corner store?
Or deep down in an alley?
Is anyone willing to spread a little love today?
Too many death and funerals taking love away
Maybe it's gossip and rumors stealing love away
Do you think that love can help you turn your life around?
Where did you lose your first love?
Get a mirror and ask yourself
Who really loves you my friend?
What's going on in our cities, nations & our world?
Who really cares?

Let's Save Our Children
Where do we look to find help for our children in the world we now live in?
Who can help us save our cities, states, nations, and communities?
There's so much despair in our streets
We are facing a time when many people are lamenting
and raising questions such as:
Who can really help us?
Who really wants to?
Who desire to die?
Who desire to live?
Who desires to try to help save our world, nations and streets?
Oh, do you hear the blood?
It's crying out in the street
Is our world destined to continue in its decline and die?
Who's going to try to rescue the many young lives?
Our world is filled with so much sadness
Sorrow is found in many mothers' eyes
Our little kids are suffering everywhere
Some without food, shelters, parents, or a caregiver
Where is the hope for our world?
Let's save our babies
Let's save our children
Let's save our land

God is Love
God is love and He loves you too
Please, don't go around talking about our heavenly Father
And using His name in vain
He's our comforter and friend
God created this world for all of us to live in
And He has provided us with everything
Freedom to live and move
And have our being in Him
He's Holy and deserves all the Glory
His heart's desire is that we love one another
We are the apples of His eye and He loves us all
He forgives every one of our sins
So come on, and love your momma, she birthed you
Love your daddy, he provides for you
Love your sister, she cares for you
Love your brother, he looks just like you
Love, love, love, love
It can make the world go around
Send a little love to your neighbors and all your friends
Jesus, brought you from a mighty long way
Don't you want to live?
Live life
More abundantly
Give love a chance!

What's Happening to Our Brothers?
War in the Middle East, and when will it ever end?
Many of our loved ones are dying
When will our families ever come together again?
Hope that things will get better again
People need work but can't find employment anywhere
Gas prices are higher today my friend
And money is tighter than it's ever been, my friend
What's happening to our country?
What's happening in our nation?
Who really knows what's happening my friend?
Is low self-esteem spreading throughout the land?
The dropout rate may be higher than it's ever been
Many fatherless children are all over the land
Many of our people are dying in the streets
Blood is crying out all over the land, my friend...

What About the Children, Neighborhood, Families, Jobs
We believe that some children & families have suffered many hardships in our community. According to the census bureau, "One of nine African Americans aged 16 to 19 is a high school dropout and nearly one in three African American males aged 20 to 29 is under criminal justice supervision on any given day, in prison or jail, on probation or parole, according to the Sentencing Project."
Saginaw News, July 16, 2004, reports that some of our children are losing hope. Some can't find jobs, weapons in our schools, homeless people, people without a vision or a hope or a purpose, divorced, battered and abused people.

Restoration Poem
Is restoration for you?
Are you tired of seeing loved ones homes destroyed by
destructive fire or being evicted onto the curb?
Driving by and seeing all their belongings piled up on the curb
Did you see the rocking chair and the little toy soldier?
You know, the one with the frown on its face
They lay there through the heavy storm and the cold rain
But, I wonder did anyone give a dollar for a collection to eliminate
the shame.
Maybe they didn't tell you because of too much pride in their name
Wait a minute, did you hear the tiny rumble?
Oh, you thought that was thunder
Let me tell you
That was my baby's stomach
Families in crisis situations, sirens going off
Everywhere throughout the land.
